How can we help you today?
Is my EcoStruxure Control Expert project still password protected when I export it as a .ZEF or .XEF?
Issue:
EcoStruxure Control Expert loose project password protection when exported as a .ZEF or .XEF

Product Line:
EcoStruxure Control Expert

Resolution:
Depending on the version of EcoStruxure Control Expert you are using and if you are using the file encryption feature. If you are using EcoStruxure Control Expert V15.0 and below and your application is password protected, the application password is cleared when you export the project as a .XEF or .ZEF. If you are using Control Expert V15SP1 and above, you have the option of maintaining application protection by way of the file encryption feature. To enable file encryption follow the steps below

Note:
  • You must set an application password before enabling the file encryption.
  • When opening the encrypted .ZEF or .XEF file, you must use the application password.
