Issue:
In Machine SCADA Expert, after having done some modifications to the Trends (might be as simple as adding a variable to trend) and transferred the project to the runtime,
The data logging for the trends stops working for some of the pens.
Product Line:
EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert (all versions).
Resolution:
In Machine SCADA Expert, when the proprietary format is used for the files in which the historical data is to be saved, these files (.HST) will be created/found in the HST directory of the project.
Typically: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert 2020 Projects\ProjectName\HST
When changes are made to the trends in the Builder and the project ran for testing, HST files (invalid) are created in the project and these are transferred with the project when the deployment to the Runtime, is done.
These invalid files/data may cause trends to malfunction later on.
To prevent this problem, a good practice would be to delete the .HST files from the project in the Builder before transferring to the Runtime. Thus, the files on the Runtime should remain intact and the trends continue to work.
Do note that there might be other reasons why the trends would malfunction.
