Issue:
An error "Unable to connect to the Cloud Licensing Server" is received when using the Secure NMC System (SNS) Tool.
Product Line:
Network Management Card 3 (NMC3) - AP9640, AP9641, AP9643
Devices with an embedded Network Management Card 3 include (but are not limited to): Metered/Switched Rack PDUs (AP71XXB, AP78XXB, AP79XXB, AP84XX, AP86XX, AP88XX, AP89XX, APDU99XX), Smart-UPS Online (SRT), Smart-UPS Ultra, Smart-UPS Modular Ultra
Cause:
When activating a Secure NMC subscription, the SNS Tool needs an internet connection to connect directly to TCP port 443 on the following server URL's:
- https://dsc-apps-prod.auth.eu-west-1.amazoncognito.com
- https://www.se.com
If the network of the NMC3 enabled device is behind a proxy server, you must add a firewall rule that permits this connection and bypasses any proxy service packet inspection. Consult with your Network Administrator to configure this firewall rule.
It is also possible to upgrade the subscribed NMC via the offline method as shown below. This is an option for users on an air-gapped private network (limited to no connection to public internet). The complete instructions are also available in the SNS Tool User Guide.
Released for: Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa
