When troubleshooting alarm redirection or Crystal report issues, additional logging is sometimes required to gain a clear understanding of the actual emails being sent. This article offers a step-by-step guide on enabling email protocol logging, aiding in troubleshooting, and pinpointing the root cause of the issue.
To activate protocol logging for emails, follow these steps:
- Open the Windows Registry Editor and create the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\AlarmRedirection" with the name "SMTP Protocol Log Filename" as a string.
- Specify the desired filename as the value, for instance, smtp.log.
Notice the protocol log is automatically created as follows:
In order for this change to take effect, a restart of the DBserver is required.
Please note that this logging is only available in Geo SCADA versions and is not available in the older ClearSCADA versions.
