Upgrading the SCADAPack 47xi Edge firmware using FileZilla and PuTTY via USB communications

  1. Factory boot the SCADAPack 47xi.
  2. Set the HEX switch to F privilege Mode.
  3. Connect the USB cable from PC to the SCADAPack 47xi RTU USB-C port.

  1. Set the RTU password to 'Device does not require a password,' and in this example, set the Edge password to 'scadapack123' or use your own Edge password. Then, click the apply button.

Password Rules

The security mode password needs to meet the following criteria:

· 8 to 32 characters

· Only characters that can be entered from a keyboard.

  1. Open FileZilla.
  2. Configure Host: sftp://10.2.3.4; Username: root; Password: scadapack123; Port: 22 and hit Quickconnect button,. In this example the Password used is scadapack123.

  1. Copy firmware file SPFW-Rx.x.x-47xi.raucb from C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\RemoteConnect\Firmware\Edge\ to tmp folder of the Scadapack 47xi Edge, just drag and drop.

  1. Open Putty
  2. Enter the IP address 10.2.3.4 with Port 22 and Connection type: SSH, select Open button.

  1. Login as: root

Password: scadapack123

Once connected to the Scadapack x70 Edge device, locate the tmp folder where the firmware file was saved. Use cd .. to go to home folder and then cd tmp. Type ls command to verify if the firmware file exist.

  1. Type rauc install SPFW-Rx.x.x-47xi.raucb to install the firmware.
  2. Type reboot after the firmware installation is complete.

The example below upgrading firmware to version R3.2.2.USBEdge6

  1. After the SCADAPack 47xi hardware has been rebooted, connect using RemoteConnect via DNP/USB to verify the firmware was updated.

  1. Factory boot the SCADAPack 47xi.

  3. Connect the USB cable and Ethernet from PC to the SCADAPack 47xi RTU USB C and ETH3.

  1. Open RemoteConnect, create new project for SCADAPack 47xI and connect via DNP USB.
  2. Set the RTU password to 'Device does not require a password,' and in this example, set the Edge password to 'scadapack123' or use your own Edge password. Then, click the apply button.

  1. Configure ETH3 and set IP address: 172.16.3.203 as an example.
  2. Write the project to the SCADAPack 47xI device.
  3. Open FileZilla
  4. Configure Host: sftp://172.16.3.203 Username: root Password: scadapack123 Port: 22 and hit Quickconnect button ETH3Edge3
  5. Copy firmware file SPFW-Rx.x.x-47xi.raucb from C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\RemoteConnect\Firmware\Edge\ to tmp folder of the Scadapack 47xi edge and just drag and drop.

ETH3Edge4

  1. Open Putty
  2. Enter the IP address of ETH3 with Port 22 and Connection type: SSH

ETH3Edge5

  1. Login as: root

Password: scadapack123

Once connected to the Scadapack x70 edge device locate the tmp folder where the firmware file was saved. Use cd .. to go to home folder and then cd tmp. Type ls to verify if the firmware file exists on the device.
