Can not use the 2 slots PCMCIA at the same time in the Smart Ipc 15".

Goals and Symptoms

Can not use the 2 slots PCMCIA at the same time in the Smart Ipc 15".

Causes and Fixes

It isn't possible to use the two slots PCMCIA at the same time in the Smart Ipc 15". Every slot works correctly when a CF Card is inserted, but if two cards are inserted into both slots, only the first card (The first Recognized by windows) is read by the smart Ipc.

The workaround is to disable in the BIOS Setup the "OnChip IDE Chanel 1" following these steps:
1) connect keyboard
2) power on the Smart
3) Launch the "Setup" by pressing on the touch "DEL"
4) Select with the arrows the line "Integrated peripherals"
5) Select with the arrows the line "OnChip IDE Chanel 1"
6) Press "+"or "-" to select "Disabled"
7) Press "F10" and "Y" to take into account the modification.

  • After this modification the two PCMCIA slots will work at the same time.
