PME 8.0/8.1 VIP hot fix

Virtual ION Processor service

There are three issues which are addressed with this hotfix:

1.  The VIP Data Monitor module events are processed incorrectly. Both ON and OFF transitions generate independent alarms visible in the Active Alarms page in the Alarms web application. The hotfix reverts the VIP Data monitor module back to pre-PME8 behavior, i.e. the Data Monitor module transitions are not treated like alarms, but rather as simple events.
2. The VIP Database Import module will time out on queries that take longer than 30 seconds. The hotifx VIP uses the IONConnectionTimeout registry setting to set the timeout (60 seconds by default)
3. The VIP would interpret large 16 bit values coming from an OPC client incorrectly.

*Warning: Take backups of any files prior to modifying them. Ensure the backups are in a location that will not be overwritten (i.e. the Desktop). 

To deploy the attached hot fix follow the steps below:

1) Shut down all PME VIP windows services
2) Rename the existing vip.exe in the \system\bin directory.
3) Copy in the updated version of vip.exe
4) Restart the VIP services
