How do I program a logic input for freewheel stop on an ATV12 drive?

Issue:
Program a freewheel stop input on an ATV12 drive.

Product Line:
ATV12, Altivar 12

Environment:
All models

Cause:
N/A

Resolution:
The freewheel stop function is often used as a run permissive.
Freewheel stop (NST) can be assigned to a logic input by navigating to the CONF menu, then FUN menu, then STT- menu, and select parameter NST.  Assign it to the desired logic input by selecting either L1L, L2L, L3L, or L4L.   This function is active low and will cause the drive to enter freewheel stop mode and display NST on the screen when the logic input is low.
