How is the ICMP Ping utility setup in ConneXview?
The ICMP ping control inside of ConneXview has 2 components, one component for discovery of network nodes and another that monitors the node.

See graphic below for the configuration feature that controls the ICMP ping feature.

For the Discovery of a node on the Ethernet network, The user can configure how long ConneXview will wait for a response during discovery before determining if a device is active at an IP address. This is set under the section "ICMP Communication". The default value is 1 second with 1 retry.

For the Monitoring of a discovered node on the Ethernet network, The value for the periodic ICMP ping is set under the section "Device IP Monitoring". If the device fails to respond to the periodic ICMP ping every 20 seconds by default, then an alarm is generated.

Please note that ConneXview is now a legacy product that is not longer commercialised
