Issue:
What will cause an Altistart 46 or Altistart 48 to fault on an FrF (Frequency Fault)?

Product Line:
ATS46/48

Environment:
All serial numbers for ATS46/48

Resolution:

Possible Cause:
• Mains supply frequency outside acceptable limits.
Check that the frequency is between:
• 60 Hz +/- 3.6 Hz (56.4 Hz to 63.6 Hz)
• 50 Hz +/- 2.5 Hz (47.5 Hz to 52.5 Hz)

Check the internal connections in the Soft Starter.  If they are all ok, then suspect a problem with the ATS46 or ATS48 Main Control Board .
The ATS46 Main Control Board is no longer available; the ATS46 would need to be replaced with an ATS48 Soft Starter. The ATS48 Main Control Board part number is VX4G481.

When replacing an ATS46 with an ATS48, consider the differences between them as detailed in this article.
