Can an AFDD replace an earth leakage current protection device?

No. Even if it protects against electrical arcs between phase and earth, an arc fault detection device can not provide the same protection as a residual current device.

However you can use all in one iCV40H RCBO which serves as:

• Fire protection/safety (built-in arc fault detection device, AFDD)
• Earth leakage protection (built-in RCBO)
• Overload protection & Short-circuit protection (built-in miniature circuit breaker)
• Overvoltage protection (built-in MSU)
