My Smart UPS Modular Ultra shows "Battery not compatible"

Environment:

All models, all serial numbers


Resolution:

There are three options for clearing this alarm:

  1. Upgrade the UPS to at least FW 17.0 for a permanent fix (Recommended)
  2. Wait four hours for the next compatibility check - the error usually clears the next time the system checks for compatibility
  3. Power cycle the battery using the thumbscrew on the front of the battery module - this will clear the error and restart communications

If the issue still persists, the battery will need to be replaced.
