What Type of Battery is used in ION7400, PM8000 and ION9000 Meters and where to find MSDS information?

Issue
Documentation about the internal battery of ION7400, PM8000 and ION9000 meters is sometimes required for transportation or compliance purposes. The main concern is whether the meter contains batteries and if any Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is needed.

Resolution

ION7400, PM8000 and ION9000 meters include an internal lithium battery that maintains the real-time clock during power loss. While the meter itself does not require an MSDS, the internal battery is a third-party component, and its MSDS can be provided for compliance purposes.

For complete environmental and material compliance details, Schneider Electric also provides Product Environmental Profile (PEP) documents for ION meters. These can be shared alongside the battery MSDS for full documentation.
