Yes, it is possible to run the OPC (Open Productivity and Connectivity)Server without having SoMachine installed.The user will
need the OPC Server and the SoMachine Gateway.When the user runs the SoMachine setup and select to install OPC Server
only, the SoMachine Gateway and the necessary drivers(For Example-USB driver for PLC) are installed automatically.The user
has to configure the OPC Server by using OPCConfig.exe to create the appropriate OPCServer.ini file or by just copying the
OPCServer.ini file from the SoMachine PC (where the OPC connection is running already).Matrikon OPC Explorer or any other
OPC Client should now be able to access PLC data. The user has to ensure that the SoMachine Gateway is running,this is essential.
