Braking Unit enables the Altivar 71 drive to operate while braking to a standstill or during "generator" operation, by dissipating the energy in the braking resistor.
ATV71HxxxM3, ATV 71HxxxM3X, ATV 71H075N4…HC16N4, ATV 71WxxxN4,
ATV71PxxxN4Z and ATV 71HU22Y…HC16Y drives have a built-in dynamic brake transistor.
For ATV 71HC20N4…HC50N4 and ATV 71HC20Y…HC63Y drives, a braking unit is optional.
The network braking unit can be used to restore the following to the line supply:
(1) The energy from the motor
(2) The energy from motors controlled by several drives connected on the same DC bus.
It is available for ATV 71xxxxN4 and ATV 71PxxxN4Z drives.
