How is a direct-wired serial ClearScada Server connection configured.

SCADAServer connections are configured in the Server | Connections dialog. To configure a direct-wired serial connection:

Select Server | Connections.



Select Add.



Highlight Serial Port and select the OK button to accept the selection.



Highlight the connection that requires configuration and select the Properties button.

Modify each field as required. Some of the fields include

Access Path: the name that is used by the OPC clients to indicate the path of communication from the PC to the field devices. This name may be changed to something more specific than the default value 1, e.g. PCCOM1.

Serial Port: pull-down list contains the names of all available computer COM ports, as detected by SCADAServer.
Addressing: pull-down list contains the selection of either Standard or Extended addressing.

Select the Default button to return the settings to their default values.

• Select the Type tab.
• Select No Flow Control.
• Select the OK button to accept the connection configuration.
