How to use FanIn function while developing template in Ecostruxure Process Expert

As a User of Ecostruxure Process Expert template, I want to know the behavior of FanIn when it is connected to parameter, interface, input values so that it reduces the understanding gap while developing templates in Ecostruxure Process Expert.

Step 1: When in template editor, Navigate to Toolbox and then in Functions section drag and drop the FanIn into template editor.

Step 4: On right click of mouse on In, we get multiple options . When we click “Create Input Value” , it will bind hardcoded value to the input. Other options for binding are parameter, Interface, other elements.

Step 5: We have configured the function as below

FanIn function: The output will have the string value of Input depending on priority. First being In and then In.1 and so on.
Scenario 1: When the interface is connected and value is passed at In then Out will have value of In
Scenario 2 : When the interface is not connected so there is no value at In then the next priority would be In.1 . If the parameter has a value then Out will have value of In.1
Scenario 3 : When the interface is not connected so there is no value at In then the next priority would be In.1 . If the parameter also has no value then the next priority would be In.2 ,important to note here that Out will have value of In.2 irrespective of the input field has value or not, due to hard binding(Constant) with input value.
