What are different DHCP Server Options available with BACnet/IP controllers.

The following DHCP server options are supported with BACnet/IP controllers:

- AS-P server or AS-B server with DHCP on a private IP network

- Router or switch with DHCP on a private IP network

- Computer with DHCP on a site IP network

NOTE:

These options are topology independent. A router or switch or a computer on a local network are similar since both involve a local network connection. Be sure to locate only one of these configurations on a network segment at the same time, however. From a network management view, it is not desirable to have more than 1 DHCP server assigning addresses and responding to requests.
