Inside a switchboard there is heat dissipation from the devices and busbars in a normal running condition. This heat is dissipated out of switchboard mainly through the air circulation inside the switchboard by means of convection.
PrismaSeT I has rear panels which has louvers on top and bottom for an IP30/42 solution. These louvers allow the cold air to enter the switchboard from the bottom, absorb heat from switchboard, rise up and goes out through the top louver.
Incase of IP54 solution, this is taken care by forced ventilation
For this airflow to happen, it is essential the a gap is maintained between the switchboard and walls/roof while installation. Hence back to back assembly is not recommended with PrismaSeT I.
While installing a switchboard in a room it is recommended to maintain clearances for the reasons mentioned.
- free space to enable for complete opening of the doors and operator access, maintenance or using a lifting device
- Provide at least 600 mm of free space above PrismaSeT for incoming cable from top.
- Sufficient space from rear of the panel to wall for the heat dissipation from the switchboard.
Also, recommendations from local regulations shall be taken care.
