How can we prevent the RE22R2AMR timer relay from turning OFF and failing to return to ON when the control voltage (U) experiences a temporary drop between 10 ms and 100 ms? How to Resolve the Issue Using a Line Filter?
The RE22R2AMR timer relay is sensitive to brief interruptions in control voltage. When the voltage drops—even momentarily—it may interpret this as a power loss, causing the relay contacts to switch OFF. Due to its internal timing logic, the relay may not automatically resume its previous state once voltage is restored.
To mitigate this issue, we recommend installing a line filter in the control circuit. A line filter is designed to:
- Smooth out minor voltage fluctuations
- Suppress electrical noise and transients
- Stabilize the control voltage supply
By doing so, it ensures that the control voltage remains within acceptable limits, even during short disturbances, preventing the relay from misinterpreting the event as a power failure.
Benefits of Using a Line Filter
- Improved voltage stability for sensitive control devices
- Enhanced reliability of timer relay operation
- Reduced risk of false triggering or contact dropout
- No need for manual reset or reconfiguration after voltage dips
