Machine Expert, how can we prevent the controller password to expire?

Issue:

I set up a few of these M241s in the field. Of course, during initial setup I set a login and password.

I noticed that this seems to have expired, requiring me to set a new password. Is there any way to make the password permanent?

Product Line:

Machine Expert version 2.3 and 2.5.

Resolution:

To prevent the expiry of the password to access the controller:

In Machine Expert:

1- From the Device tree, double click on the controller to open the properties and go to the Communication Settings tab.

2- Click on the Security Settings button to open the following Device Security Settings window.

3- Open the CmpUserMgr node.

In it, you will have access to disable the Password Expiration parameter.

In Machine Expert v2.3 and 2.5, this parameter is enabled by default.

Since version 2.6, it is now disabled by default.
