Can we provide spring charge indication and trip circuit healthy indication function in ENW and MTZ ACBs?
Issue: Can we provide spring charge indication and trip circuit healthy indication function in ENW and MTZ ACBs?
Resolution:
1. Both breakers have the Ready to close indication that can help you indicate that the breaker is healthy and ready to close or to be given the close command. There is no specific contact you can have to check the position of the charging of the spring. Either you get the 0, or you get the 1(Healthy signal).A small but important point: PF is not only “spring-charged”. Schneider defines the PF / ready-to-close status as meaning the breaker is open, the spring mechanism is charged, and no maintained opening order / blocking condition is present. If it is OFF we can not identify the reason of blocking, that we have to check as per user guide given below.
2. Yes, for MTZ with Micrologic X, you can provide a “trip circuit healthy” function, but it is primarily implemented as built-in supervision/diagnostics and status indication, not as a simple legacy MV-style “TCS relay” by default. For ENW, we do not have the option for the TCS.
