What is the making capacity of the ComPact NSX (New Gen) MCCB?
The MCCB model (ComPacT NSX) New Generation has a rated breaking capacity of 70 kA at 415 V AC. In MCCBs, the making capacity is not specified separately, as IEC standards inherently define it and is typically around 2.1 to 2.2 times the breaking capacity. Accordingly, the approximate making capacity of this MCCB is about 147 kA (peak). The primary parameter for MCCB selection remains the breaking capacity, as it determines the device’s ability to safely interrupt fault currents.
