Issue:
Wanting to take the ATV212 drive out of PID mode and control the drive locally by pushing the local remote button.
Product Line:
Altivar 212, S-FLEX 212, Altivar Machines
Environment:
All
Cause:
N/A
Resolution:
When the Altivar 212 drive is in PID control, pressing LOC/REM to go to Local mode does NOT deactivate PID control. Local mode will provide HMI RUN / STOP control and HMI adjustment to the PID setpoint. The drive will stay in PID control regardless of the Local/Remote setting on the drive.
To deactivate PID control, assign a logic input to function 14 (PID disable). When the specified assigned input is energized, the drive will be taken out of PID mode. Control will then be based on normal CMOd and FMOd assignments. The VFD can also then be put into Local mode, via the LOC/REM button, for HMI control of RUN / STOP and HMI speed adjustment.
To go back to PID control, de-energize the specified assigned input.
NOTE: If the VFD is setup for PID setpoint via the HMI, then the Local mode adjustment of speed via the HMI will also adjust the PID setpoint.
Programming Example
F360 set to 1
FMOD set to 3
Drive is in PID mode on VIA for 4-20mA signal. The HMI can be used to adjust the set point. (Toggling between LOCAL/REMOTE will keep the drive in PID mode regardless)
Set F112 = 14 (set LI R selection to PID deactivate)
When terminal logic input R is energized then the drive is taken out of PID mode.
