Easergy Studio Project Structure and Warning When Opening Project File
Issue
When opening an Easergy Studio project file (.sestudio), a warning message appears indicating that the project data cannot be found or is incomplete.
Product
MiCOM Px20, Px30, Px40
Easergy Studio Software
Environment
All versions of Easergy Studio using project files with extensions:
.sestudio (formerly .studio)
.sestudioarch (formerly .studioarch)
Cause
An Easergy Studio project is composed of two required elements:
1.Project index file
- File extension: .sestudio
- Acts as the main reference file for the project
2.Project folder
- Has the same name as the .sestudio file
- Contains all relay settings, configurations, and record files associated with the project
The warning occurs when the .sestudio file is opened without its corresponding project folder. Since the folder contains all the actual project data, Easergy Studio cannot locate the necessary files and triggers a warning.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, apply one of the following solutions:
1.Ensure correct project structure
- Verify that the .sestudio file and its corresponding folder are located in the same directory
- The correct structure should appear as:
New System.sestudio
New System_sestudio (folder)
2.Use the exported project archive (recommended best practice)
- Export the project using the Export Project function in Easergy Studio
- This creates a single compressed file with extension:
.sestudioarch - Share this archive instead of separate files
3.Import the archive properly
- Import the .sestudioarch file into Easergy Studio
- The software will automatically extract and rebuild the correct project structure
Note: The .sestudioarch file is a packaged archive containing both the project index file and its associated folder.
