Goals and Symptoms
When using a default MDI template, such as 6200.ion, as the basis for creating a new template, updating the device type fails.
Causes and Fixes
Create the device type new and the MDI will allow the device type to be added and updated. This issue has been resolved in ION Enterprise 5.6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and above.
