Why Does ViewX Fail to Connect to the Server with the Error "ClearSCADA.Client.SecureSessionRequiredException"?
Issue:
In some cases, a ViewX client may fail to connect to a Geo SCADA server and display the following error message: "Exception of type 'ClearSCADA.Client.SecureSessionRequiredException' was thrown."
This issue can occur when the SecureConnection setting stored in the SYSTEMS.XML file does not match the security requirements of the server. If the client is configured to use a non-secure connection while the server requires a secure session, ViewX will be unable to establish communication and the connection attempt will fail with the error above.
Resolution:
To resolve the issue, verify the SecureConnection setting in the SYSTEMS.XML file located in: C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA
Ensure that the value is set to: SecureConnection="true"
