The software embedded in Sepam series 80 (firmware) operates cyclically and deterministically. The cycle time is the time that it takes the Sepam series 80 to perform all of the «fast» functions. During a fixed cycle time of 14 ms, the system performs the self-tests, protection functions, logic input updating, control logic and equation editor, logic output updating and a portion of the slow functions (measurements).
