How to change the default diagram for Web Applications diagram tab?
Issue
A user would like to specify a custom diagram as the default in Diagrams. By default, Diagrams (formerly Webreach) will only load the 'network.dgm' file found in the \config\diagrams\ud\ folder. Saving custom diagrams as 'network.dgm' can be problematic as it is easy for Vista to overwrite this file using the 'Generate Default Network Diagram' option.

*Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*
Failure to follow these instructions can require operating system re-installation.

Power Monitoring Expert 8.2 and older versions:
A registry key can be added on the Primary Server in order to define a custom entry diagram other than the default 'network.dgm'.

1. Open the Windows Registry Editor and navigate to:
32-bit Operating System:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\6.0\WebReach

64-bit Operating System:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\8.2\WebReach

Note: The software name and version number after the \Schneider Electric\ will vary depending on the version of software.

2. Right-click to add a new string value and name it 'NetworkDiagram'.
registry editor

3. Right-click NetworkDiagram, select Modify, then type the path and name of your custom
network diagram in the Value data field.

Note:
If the physical location of the .dgm file is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\config\digrams\ud\mycustomdiagram.dgm
then the registry string will be x-pml:/diagrams/ud/mycustomdiagram.dgm

The x-pml:/ is a special function that defines the Power Monitoring Expert install directory.

4. Click OK.

5. Close the Registry and restart IIS.

Power Monitoring Expert 9.0 and newer versions:
Power Monitoring Expert 9.0 and newer versions now have the ability to define custom entry diagrams directly within the Web Applications. In the Diagrams tab, once a diagram has been added to the library, there will be an option to set it as the default diagram. Users have the ability to set their own individual entry diagrams, and Supervisors have the ability to set a system wide default diagram.
Reference: Set default options for a diagram
Note: The option to add the 'NetworkDiagram' registry key is still available for PME 9.0 and newer.
