Cause

The Logical Device Template was created using an older driver source (for example, SPM 7.0.1 or older PME driver sets).
These templates are not directly compatible with newer PME systems because the Logical Device Type definitions and measurement sets differ across versions.

Resolution

To import the Logical Device Template into PME:

1. Identify the origin of the template

   • Templates created using SPM 7.0.1 or other legacy driver versions cannot be imported directly into modern PME systems.

2. Create a new Logical Device Type in PME

   • Open Management Console.
   • Navigate to Tools → Logical Device → Logical Device Type Editor.

3. Define all required measurements

   • Review the Logical Device Template’s Output Measurement column (column F).
   • Examine any circuit (e.g., Circuit 01 or Circuit 02).
   • All circuits use the same measurement set.

4. Build the Logical Device Type

   • Add all the measurements supported by each circuit (such as Current, Voltage, energy metrics, etc.).

5. Import the Logical Device Template into PME

   • Once the Logical Device Type is created, the template can be imported successfully.
