If the comm option card has been removed and ATV powered up (without the card), then ATV will say that configuration is not consistent and will force to apply factory setting. It measn that all parameters will return to default.
But if the comm card is removed and replaced by another one (of the same reference), the drive will not go to factory setting. However all the communication parameters will be changed to values that new card was configured to . It the card inserted is new one, then communication parameters will go to default values.
List of communication parameters depends on the card. E.g. for modbus TCP it will be : IP configuration, device name, i/o scanner mapping, FDR configuration, etc.
