PME2020 - PM8000 Offline Device Driver not working

Environment:
PME2020-CU1 - PM8000 (f/w V2.2.1 template V2.2.0) offline device configuration.
-----------------------------------------------------
Issue:
Even after enabling offline device configuration, it is not possible to configure the device in Vista. Managers and Modules show blank for PM8000 meter. Please note that the device is disabled in MC.
The same thing works with other meters like ION7650.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Set "Offline Device Driver Enabled" to Yes.
  2. Set "Enabled" to No
  3. Try to link a numeric object in Vista to this meter.

If the device is enabled then it works properly.

-----------------------------------------------------

Cause:

The "Offline Device Configuration" feature is supported with ethernet and serial meters. However, not all of the meters are compatible with the offline configuration. To find the list of meters supported with offline configuration, navigate to the "...PME Installer/system/translator/offsite.xml" file (as shown in the screenshot below). The XML file lists all the devices supported with offline configuration.

The framework file name in offsite.xml file should match with the actual framework file names installed in the folder ...\config\fmwk\nd.

For PM8000 the frameworks installed are:

  1. 8000_v2.0.0_FAC-PQ_V2.0.0.0.28.fwn
  2. 8000_V2.2.0.0.0.fwn

PME2020 uses this in offsite.xml

<IONDefault Type="8000" FMWK="8000_v2.0.0_FAC-PQ_V2.2.0.0.0.fwn" />

This mismatch is causing the issue

-----------------------------------------------------

Proposed Solution:

  1. Change the offsite.xml file to use - <IONDefault Type="8000" FMWK="8000_v2.0.0_FAC-PQ_V2.0.0.0.28.fwn" />
  2. Restart ION Network Router Service.
