Why does Machine Expert Simulation ask for login user and password ?

If Simulation on Machine Expert asks for the user to log in and enter the password it is caused by the user accidentally creating a username and password while using simulation mode.

To remove the username and password follow the steps below.

  1. Save the project you are working on in Machine Expert.
  2. Close Machine Expert
  3. Open the Windows file browser and navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\CODESYS ( ProgramData folder may be hidden. If hidden then in the Windows file browser windows click on the "View" tab, in the view options find the radio button for "Hidden items" and put a check mark in this option the show hidden items )When the   ProgramData folder is visible open the folder and find the CODESYS folder and open this folder.
  4. Delete the folder "Simulation" from the CODESYS folder
  5. Close the file browser window.
  6. Launch Machine Expert. open your project and test Simulation Mode again. You will not be required to enter a username and password.
