Issue:
At startup, on the HMIP6, the Vijeo Designer Runtime displays the error message below even if no configuration uses the Secondary or Optional drive.
Product Line:
Harmony P6, HMIP6 and Vijeo Designer
Resolution:
On a standard HMI, there are parameters that use or are saved to the SRAM of the HMI. (The Ethernet port configuration is one example.)
In the case of a HMIP6, just like a generic PC, it does not have a dedicated SRAM to receive these configuration parameters and other that are made in Vijeo Designer.
So, in a HMIP6, the SRAM is simulated into the Secondary drive or Optional drive and even if nothing in the project (Like Data or Alarm logging, recipes) uses the
Secondary drive or Optional drive, the error message will indicate that one is needed.
To resolve this problem or error message, 2 options are possible.
1. Plug in a USB memory stick or SD card to the P6 unit to be used as the Secondary drive.
2. Partition the C:\ to make a secondary drive allocation.
Below is a link to an article on the Microsoft support web site, on how to partition a disk,.
It is needed to shrink the current drive volume to make some unallocated space (2GB should be enough).
