Power Terminations for SAGE RTU 2400

Issue:

How to correctly connect input power to the SAGE RTU 2400 baseboard during installation.

Product:

SAGE RTU 2400

Environment:

  • SAGE RTU 2400 Baseboard
  • NEMA 4 or NEMA 12 enclosures
  • DC power supply (10–33 VDC) or optional AC/DC converters

Cause:

Improper wiring or misunderstanding of terminal assignments can lead to power supply issues, RTU malfunction, or damage to components.

Resolution:

  • The SAGE 2400 baseboard requires +10 to +33 VDC input power.
  • Connect power to Terminal Block TB1:
    • Pin 3: Positive (+10 to +33 VDC)
    • Pin 1: Ground (Return)
  • Pins 2 and 4 are provided for looping power to another module if needed.
  • If using AC or other DC sources (e.g., 48 VDC or 129 VDC), the enclosure will include a +24 VDC power supply and separate terminations for field power.
  • Ensure input power is de-energized before wiring and verify proper grounding using the external grounding stud connected to the RTU grounding system.
