Issue
The Ethernet and/or User Management settings are not changing after downloading the project via File System (package.vml file).
Product Line
HMIs configured with EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert software
Cause
The Keep Runtime Data for file system download settings prevent these changes from being made.
Resolution
Unlike Ethernet and USB transfer operations, File System transfer requires defining some properties in the screen editing software. In the default settings, when you run the File System transfer operation, even if the run-time data does not match the screen editing software, run-time data is preserved. If you want to overwrite the run-time data, change the following settings:
1. In the Project Explorer window, go to [System Architecture] and click [Target01].
2. In the Properties window, go to [Advanced] tab ➞ [Settings] tab ➞ [Preferences] ➞ [Keep Runtime Data for file system download] and clear the [User Management] (user information) and [Ethernet Settings] check boxes (or the one you are interested in modifying).
3. Download the project to the HMI via File System transfer operation. The panel is now set up to overwrite its run-time data during transfer.
4. The next time you run the File System transfer operation, if the run-time data does not match the screen editing software, run-time data is overwritten.
