How to understand the connection and device number of NOC

When considering the number of connections in Unity Pro it indicates 256 connections and 128 devices which confuses me.  Can you explain what is the difference?
Answer to this question:
128 devices and 256 connections are not conflicted.
128 devices: Means the NOC module as Client for Implicit communication (IO scanning), so the TesysT configured by IO scanning, the maximum connections configured in IO scanning is 128. e.g. 128 TesysT devices, one IO scanning for one device; If 64 TesysT devices, two IO scanning for one device. 64x2=128.
256 connections of NOC, including EIP and ModbusTCP, Client and Server, FTP connections, Http connection.... 256=128(EIP share with ModbusTCP IO scanner) + 3x2 (EIP adapter)+16 (EIP explicit client)+32(EIP explicit server)+16(ModbusTCP explicit client)+32(ModbusTCP explicit server)+ some FTP and http.
