Issue:I require the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for various APC single phase UPS products.Product Line:All APC Single phase UPSEnvironment: All APC UPSCause: The majority of batteries used in APC by Schneider Electric Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and Replacement Battery Cartridges (RBCs) are contained within cartridges and are sealed, non-spillable, maintenance-free lead acid batteries. The batteries are a manufactured article consisting of a plastic, sealed case, terminals and flame arrestor vent caps. Case color varies. The electrolyte is contained within the case and consists of the electrolyte held captive in an adsorbed glass mat (AGM) or gel matrix. There is no “free” electrolyte to leak out of the case. Under normal use and handling, there is no contact with the internal components of the battery or the chemical hazards. Under normal use and handling, these products do not emit regulated or hazardous substances. The design life of a sealed lead acid battery is 3-5 years depending on environmental factors. Using the batteries past the end of it’s design life can result in electrolyte leakage. In a few cases, Replacement Battery Cartridges (RBCs) containing High Power Lithium Ion Cell, Phosphate-Based are also used. These batteries are used stricitly in select models found in the Back-UPS Connect family. Wait for 2-5 minutes for the upgrade to complete. Remove the flash drive from the USB port and check your firmware version. On a Rack PDU specifically, the LCD display will show the firmware version for three seconds and then will resume normal operation, at which time you can also remove the flash drive.Universal Serial Bus (USB) 1.1 – Network Management Card 3 devices with USB (firmware versions 2.5.0 and lower)This feature is available in bootloader version v1.3.3.1 and higher. Before starting the transfer, make sure the USB drive is formatted in FAT, FAT16 or FAT32. This must be the Super User Account or an Administrator account. By default, the Super User username and password is apc. Also, once you have entered Boot Monitor mode correctly, the Network Management Card's status LED will flicker amber in color. (BootMonitor mode is required on NMC2 for an XMODEM upgrade in any situation.)5. Type XMODEM, then press ENTER. From the terminal program’s menu, select XMODEM, then select the binary bootmonitor firmware file to transfer using XMODEM. After the XMODEM transfer is complete, the Boot Monitor prompt returns.NOTE: If the boot monitor module must be updated, a boot monitor module is included in the firmware release. Otherwise, the boot monitor module that is installed on the card is compatible with the firmware update. If there is no included bootmonitor file, upgrade the AOS binary first.7. To install the application module, repeat step 5 and step 6. In step 6, use the application module file name.8. Type reset or press the Reset button to restart the Management Card.If the Management Card is installed in an Expansion Chassis or Triple Expansion Chassis, connect the provided configuration cable (APC part number 940-0299) to the serial port at the Management Card, or connect an RS-232 configuration cable (APC part number 940-0024) to the DB-9 serial port at the expansion chassis.If you connect an RS-232 configuration cable (APC part number 940-0024) to the DB-9 serial port of the expansion chassis, select 115200 bps.Network Management Card 3 (AP9640, AP9641, AP9643)1. As a general rule, every 8°C (15°F) increase in temperature will cut the battery’s life in half. For example, a battery expected to last 4 years at 25°C (77°F) would only last about 2 years if operated at 33°C (95°F). Keep in mind that the internal battery temperature of a UPS is always higher than the ambient room temperature. Because of this, it is strongly recommended to install the UPS in a location with good airflow, proper ventilation, and adequate cooling to help maximize battery life. 2. Battery Calibration and Deep Discharge: You should perform runtime calibrations on your UPS only once or twice per year, and only if truly necessary. While some customers run calibrations to verify that their available runtime is sufficient, performing these tests too frequently can significantly shorten the lifespan of the APC battery. Also to be taken into account are the parameters like supply frequency, operating voltage & harmonics level of the power system for such application.
