Goals and Symptoms

The goal is to provide information of various Ethernet Ports being used by PES Software during a complete lifecycle of a project to call different software components and services to work collaboratively.

Facts and Changes

This document has been created for PES version 4.2 SP2, however it can be used for other version as well until specific changes made to the Ethernet Port or services.

Causes and Fixes

Process Expert System (PES) is our offer in the field of hybrid process automation system that brings together the best from the PLC/SCADA and DCS worlds. It is an integrated system for engineering, operation and maintenance. PES software calls different software components and services to work collaboratively. Meantime a lot of data exchange happens between License Manager and Floating License Manager, between PES Server and PES Engineering Client, between PES database and PES embedded VM, etc.

In this article we introduce the different Ethernet ports used by PES. In the project site we need to open and allow the access of these listed ports by tuning the settings in switches and fire-walls. Besides, we also need to prevent these ports to conflict with other software.

Refer to the attached document which describes various ports and its uses in PES Software.
