Normally the contactor operation is controlled by AC or DC control voltage input to A1-A2terminals. But in advanced version contactor, the contactor can be controlled by additional 24V DC PLC inputs to X1-X2-X3 terminals.
When the PLC switch is ON, the contactor function is controlled by PLC input.
When the PLC switch is OFF, the contactor is controlled by control voltage input to A1-A2.
