What is the maximum switching capacity for LED lamps for KNX 16A switching actuators?

Article available in these languages: Spanish

LED lamps can behave very differently. Not each LED lamp of for example 5W is behaving electrically the same way as a 5W LED lamp from another manufacturer.
Situation today is that you cannot simply say that a device is able to switch LED load up to 200W (just as an example). This value might be true for some type of LED but for other LED lamps it might be completely wrong, and the relay of the actuator would glue after few switching operations.
In general LED lamps usually behave as capacitive loads. For such loads we provide max. load in manual (for example 200µF for the 16A switch actuators).
But in fact, in most cases, you will not get the value of capacity from the manufacturer of the LED lamp.
Manufacturer of LED lamps usually give values of max. inrush current per duration.
Values for the KNX 16A switch actuators are as follows
max. capacitive load 16A 200µF
Peak inrush current (150µs) 600A
Peak inrush current (230µs) 480A
Peak inrush current (600µs) 300A
