This Knowledge base helps the user resolve the issue “Unable to generate Plant model hierarchy/variables files (Not successful)

While performing the build all/build operation of the control project, users can see a message in the notification banner after the build successful message that “Unable to generate Plant model hierarchy/variables files (Not successful) as shown below.

Note: This is applicable only for EPE for ASP offers

In EPE for ASP project, the supervision components are generated using the assetlink tool. The file used inside the assetlink for getting the details of the referenced control project is an .xsy file. The .xsy file has the list of variables, the hierarchy of the application etc.

The files get created when the executable of the project is built successfully.

Here, it shows that the project is built successfully but the files have not been created.

The files are created at the path that is configured in the settings of the system.

Usually, the above issue happens when a wrong path is configured in the system.

This issue can be resolved by doing the following checks

1.     Find the corresponding project from the application explorer.

2.     Right click and select the settings

3. Navigate to the path and check whether an accessible path is configured or not.

4. Once done save the changes and perform the build operation again to create the corresponding the xsy file
