Naming Convention Error in SCADAPack Workbench - Error Message when Creating Project
When creating a new project, the system enforces specific naming rules to ensure consistency and compatibility. If these rules are not followed, you may encounter the following error:
Error: "Names must start with a letter and may include letters, digits, and single underscore characters. The final character must be a letter or digit—names cannot end with an underscore. Parameter name:
name."
Key Naming Guidelines
- Project names must begin with a letter.
- Allowed characters include:
- Letters (A–Z, a–z)
- Digits (0–9)
- Single underscores (
_)
- The last character must be a letter or digit.
- Underscores cannot be used at the end of the name.
- Special characters (e.g.,
.,@,#, etc.) are not allowed when creating a project.
Importing Projects
While creating a project enforces strict naming rules, the Workbench does allow importing projects that contain special characters (such as a period "." or others) in their names. However, these characters are not permitted when naming a project during creation.
