Resetting SAGE RTUs to Default Values

Issue:

Customer needs to reset RTUs to default values

Product:

SAGE RTU Series

Environment:

RTUs with configuration stored on Compact Flash (CF) cards in the CPU module.

Cause:

The customer wants to ensure all configuration data is removed prior to repurposing of the units.

Resolution:

There are two main options to reset the SAGE RTU to default values:

  1. Send CF Cards to Schneider Electric
    • Schneider will format the CF cards using the proprietary format and restore them to default values.
    • This ensures the RTU can be reused later if needed.
  2. Purchase New CF Cards from Schneider
    • Replace the existing CF cards with new ones preloaded with default settings.
    • This allows the RTU to remain functional with a clean configuration.

Alternative for Disposal:
If the goal is permanent disposal, the customer can format the CF cards using a standard CF card reader. This will wipe the data completely, but the cards will no longer be usable in the RTU.
