Medium Voltage Switchgear Components

Ready to overcome the challenges of building efficient, dependable medium voltage panels and switchgear?

We provide best-in-class core components that help panel builders and distributors streamline assembly, accelerate project timelines, and ensure uncompromising quality. Simplify your switchgear completion process and deliver exceptional performance with solutions you can trust.

Our comprehensive range of key components includes:

  • Circuit Breakers: Protective devices that automatically disconnect circuits in the event of a fault, thus preventing damage to the installation and ensuring a safer system.
  • MV switches and disconnectors: Indoor switchgear designed to switch and operate energized and de-energized electrical circuits under load conditions.
  • MV fuses: Protective components that blown to interrupt the flow of current in electrical systems when a fault occurs, helping to protect equipment such as transformers or electrical grid.
  • Protection and control, metering and feeder automation: Protection relays, Arc flash and Metering devices enable monitoring and control of switchgear by detecting abnormal operating conditions, helping to prevent severe damage and reduce the need for unplanned maintenance.

Switchgear is more than a protective device. It’s a critical part of keeping our power grids reliable and resilient.

A Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) is a power distribution device that switches and interrupts current during load or fault conditions to isolate high power sources and help manage safe and reliable power distribution.
  • Vacuum Circuit Breakers are used within switchgear enclosures together with protection relays for MV applications in power distribution systems.
  • In a Vacuum Circuit Breaker, current flow is interrupted in a vacuum chamber with a high insulation dielectric strength to minimize the arc energy created by switching of up to 24 kV.
  • Vacuum Circuit Breakers are often replaceable devices that combine a compact design, long service life, and minimal maintenance when compared to other circuit breaker types.
  • Vacuum Circuit Breakers do not use gases to isolate power, they are air-based and use vacuum principles.
What is a Vacuum Circuit Breaker?
A vacuum circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch, designed to protect a power system and its connected devices and equipment from harm caused by overload or short circuits. Its basic function is to interrupt the current flow using fixed and moving contacts that are permanently sealed in a vacuum interrupter.

Benefits of Vacuum Circuit Breakers:
  • Optimized for high mechanical and electrical stresses.
  • Flexible application as fixed or withdrawable, compact, all-in-one designs.
  • Standardized designs for flexible application and short delivery times.
  • Can be exchanged or retrofitted to existing panels to extend equipment life.
Today's vacuum circuit breakers are exceptionally durable, making them ideal for clearing faults in many applications. Designed and optimized by experienced manufacturers to be lighter, more cost effective, and require less maintenance, while also boasting a longer lifespan than ever before.
