ArcBlok: A gamechanger in electrical equipment protection and safety-related work practices
ArcBlok is always on to help isolate, contain, and extinguish arc flash energy on incoming conductors. Barriers keep foreign objects, such as a hand, a dropped nut, or a screwdriver from entering the energized line side.
With ArcBlok, the line side conductors are fully enclosed inside a cable vault which has been tested to meet requirements for arc containment.
Arc isolation
The cable vault is designed to isolate arcs on the line side conductors and reduces the potential for arc faults.
Thermal monitoring
Sensors inside the compartment continuously take thermal readings and communicate those to a mobile device.
Added protection and safety
Take temperature readings faster and without the discomfort of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) normally required for infrared thermography.
ArcBlok: How does it work?
ArcBlok is designed to reduce the possibility that an arc flash event will occur by isolating the line side electrical conductors. The isolating vault prevents tools and other objects from inadvertently entering the incoming zone and causing a catastrophic release of arc energy.
If an arc occurs, it reduces the arc duration and it is self-extinguished in less than one cycle (16.6ms), reducing potential equipment damage.
With ArcBlok's Safety by Design, an arc event can be minimized and contained, protecting personnel and electrical equipment, avoiding costly damage and downtime.
