Issue

Upon closing the mechanical bypass switch on a Galaxy 3500 UPS, the Network Management Card 2 (AP9630/30CH & AP9631/31CH) will report an "Internal Mechnical Bypass" alarm, which is expected. A user may also see "The External Switch Gear Q003 has closed" in the event log.

Cause

This is an erroneous alarm and will be fixed in a future firmware release.



Resolution

If you're experiencing these erroneous messages, upgrade your Network Management Card 2 firmware, when available. A release that fixes this issue is still to be determined.
