The default StatusRegister setting of 1100 will work with the Power Meter 600 in PowerLogic SCADA, even though 1100 is not defined in the PM6 Register List. If the user reads register 1100 with a generic Modbus register reader, he will receive a value of 32768. While this denotes an undefined value, the register is still readable and therefore, the PM6 I/O device can use this register as verification to come online.
The following is some additional general information about the StatusRegister parameter:
This parameter defines the address of the register that the driver will read to determine whether a device is responding to communication requests. The result of this read is not important; however, it must be a valid register address within the device. This parameter can only be configured for the PWRMODBUS driver.
