Issue:
JOG function in ATV61/71 when in 3-wire control
Product Line:
Altivar 61 71
Environment:
All models
Cause:
Understanding of control logic
Resolution:
In 3-wire control, LI1 from the STOP contact is normally high to allow a run command. LI2 is from the START contact and runs when it goes high, even momentarily. When the JOG function is added to LIx and is active, the VFD will run only when LI2 is high and will stop if LI2 drops low. The JOG action results from LI2 going high and low. So the sequence is to have LI1 and LIx go high and then use LI2 for jogging.
The same logic applies to a reverse logic input, such as LI3.
