Cause
Product was released before the Evaluation Edition was.

Resolution
*Warning: Take backups of any files prior to modifying them. Ensure the backups are in a location that will not be overwritten (i.e. the Desktop).

*Note: The Evaluation Editions are not supported indefinitely, and a full license will be required for SQL and the software to continue working.

1. Check installed SQL Evaluation Edition by running query select @@VERSION in SSMS and note down the same.
2. Copy the disc (ISO file contents) to the local hard drive folder and then copy the ‘Database.Core.broker.xml’ from the 'Setup/BrokerFragments' folder to a backup location.
3. Open ‘Database.Core.broker.xml’ (located at ‘Setup/BrokerFragments’) in notepad and go to section ‘RequiredSQLEdition’
4. In above section update the required SQL evaluation edition as noted in the 1st step.
Below example is for the SQL Enterprise Evaluation (64-bit).

After updating as above in Database.Core.broker.xml file, save the same and run the PME installer to proceed with the installation.

Attached is the example broker file configured for PME v8.2 with SQL Server 2016 Evaluation Edition.
